CH On March 27, a five-member delegation from Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), led by Alexey Zarechenskiy, Director of the International Office, and Dmitry Strelets, Dean of the School of Aeronautical Engineering, visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) to discuss academic cooperation and cultural exchange. Representatives from SJTU’s Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Sports Department warmly received the delegation.
Guo Liang, Deputy Director of SJTU’s Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, extended a sincere welcome to the MAI delegation and highlighted SJTU’s distinctive international programs, expressing hopes for deeper collaboration. Zarechenskiy thanked SJTU for its hospitality and introduced MAI’s educational strengths and global partnership initiatives.
Key discussions focused on dual-degree programs for undergraduate and graduate students, covering enrollment plans and student management. The MAI delegation also inquired about the academic and daily experiences of Russian students at SJTU, later meeting with them personally.
Additionally, the delegation visited SJTU’s Sports Department, where both sides explored avenues for sports and cultural exchanges. A preliminary agreement was reached to invite MAI’s men’s basketball team for friendly matches, fostering student interaction.
This visit has injected fresh momentum into the strategic partnership between the two universities. Leveraging the strengths of SJTU’s aerospace disciplines and sports resources, the institutions aim to advance educational collaboration, promote sci-tech and cultural exchanges, and strengthen friendship between Chinese and Russian youth.
